Job Title
Experienced SoC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join a team that integrates IP into complex subsystems and SoCs used across IoT, automotive and infrastructure products. The role focuses on subsystem microarchitecture, RTL development, design integration and system-level performance and power optimization.
Experience Level
Mid-level / Experienced engineer. No explicit years-of-experience requirement stated.
Responsibilities
Contribute to subsystem and SoC design from specification through RTL delivery, verification support and performance analysis.
- Review subsystem architecture and develop microarchitecture specifications.
- Implement and integrate RTL for subsystems; understand incoming IP functionality and interfaces.
- Review verification plans, help debug and fix integration and RTL issues.
- Work with performance analysis to evaluate and improve system PPA (performance, power, area).
- Run static design checks and participate in synthesis, timing and power analysis flows.
- Propose design refinements to IP teams based on system-level integration.
- Improve team design methodologies and guide or support junior team members as needed.
- Coordinate with project management on planning and scheduling tasks.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience required for successful performance in this role.
- Experience with digital hardware design and Verilog HDL.
- Detailed understanding of design techniques for complex SoC development.
- Experience with static design checks (CDC, RDC, X-prop, lint).
- Experience creating clear design specifications.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Perl or Python.
- Proven track record delivering sophisticated RTL subsystems on schedule.
- Ability to make and articulate high-level PPA trade-offs.
- Experience with synthesis, timing analysis and power management techniques.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with ARM-based designs and ARM system architectures.
- Knowledge of memory system interconnects (e.g. AMBA ACE-Lite, AXI).
- Familiarity with processor subsystems, NoCs, security subsystems, PCIe subsystems, or system power management flows.
- Experience with SystemVerilog and modern verification methodologies.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is stated as a requirement.
