Experienced IP Logic Design Engineer

Role Summary

Work on digital logic design and validation for a scalable security IP within the Foundational Security team. Implement and verify new IP features, automate design-integration and SoC delivery, and collaborate with RTL designers, verification engineers, micro-architects, and SoC integrators.

Deliver high-quality RTL, verification environments, and test plans to ensure correct, secure IP for SoC integration.

Experience Level

Mid-level — approximately 2+ years of relevant logic design experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, verification, integration, and delivery of IP.

• Design RTL for IP blocks; write and optimize register-transfer level code.
• Participate in definition of architecture and microarchitecture for assigned blocks.
• Create and execute verification plans; develop testbenches and simulation environments.
• Analyze failing RTL tests, debug issues, and implement corrective fixes.
• Support SoC integration and drive quality assurance for IP-to-SoC handoff.
• Automate design-integration and SoC delivery workflows.
• Collaborate across teams and maintain clear technical communication.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred skills for consideration.

• Must-have: Minimum 2 years relevant logic design experience; strong analysis and debugging skills; RTL coding and simulation experience; advanced English; Costa Rican unrestricted work permit.
• Nice-to-have: SystemVerilog; UVM/OVM or object-oriented verification methodologies; formal equivalence; testbench development.
• Additional preferred: Scripting (Python/Perl/Shell); interactive debugger experience; VLSI/physical design flow; familiarity with power management, IOSF, AHB, PCIe or other industry bus protocols; experience optimizing for power, performance, area, and timing.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree (or advanced student) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent required. Master’s degree in a related field is preferred. Equivalent practical experience is acceptable where stated.
