Entry-Level Data Scientist — Semiconductor Engineering & Automation

Role Summary

Join the semiconductor engineering team to apply data science, machine learning, and automation to manufacturing test and process data. Work with cross-functional teams (Product, Test, Process, Yield, Quality) and suppliers to develop predictive and diagnostic models, deploy automated solutions, and improve product quality and yield.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Suitable for recent graduates or early-career candidates with relevant academic or internship experience (approximately 0–2 years).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on analysis, modelling, automation, and deployment to support manufacturing and test operations.

• Analyze wafer sort, final test, and inline process data to identify trends, anomalies, and root causes.
• Develop dashboards and visualizations to monitor key metrics across product and test stages.
• Automate data pipelines and reporting to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build predictive and diagnostic ML models and prototype AI solutions for non-standard problems.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and suppliers to integrate models with production-line systems and sustain deployed solutions.
• Communicate insights and recommended actions clearly to engineering stakeholders.

Requirements

Core technical skills and abilities needed for day-to-day work.

• Proficiency in Python or R and experience with libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and matplotlib. (Must-have)
• Strong foundation in statistics, data analysis, and basic machine learning concepts. (Must-have)
• Familiarity with SQL and working with large-scale databases. (Must-have)
• Experience creating dashboards or visual reports; familiarity with Tableau or Power BI is an advantage. (Nice-to-have)
• Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing and test processes is a plus. (Nice-to-have)
• Ability to interpret complex datasets, strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication in a team environment. (Must-have)
• Internship or academic project experience in manufacturing, electronics, or data analytics is a plus. (Nice-to-have)

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related technical field. Internship or academic project experience in relevant areas is considered advantageous.
