Engineering Operations Manager (F/M/D)
Role Summary
Lead operational excellence for an engineering organization developing NFC-based semiconductor products. Partner with engineering leadership, product and program management, finance and HR to improve planning, execution, governance and reporting.
Position is part of the Embedded Processing and Connectivity organization, based in Graz, Austria, and focuses on scalable processes and data-driven program delivery for semiconductor engineering teams.
Experience Level
Senior-level β requires more than 10 years of industry experience and proven engineering leadership in large technical organizations.
Responsibilities
Drive and standardize engineering operations, reporting and program execution.
- Develop and manage operational execution quality, accountability, and engineering governance.
- Coach and align team leads and staff to achieve engineering objectives.
- Support annual and quarterly planning, roadmaps, and resource/headcount planning.
- Maintain visibility into program health, milestones, risks, dependencies and blockers; facilitate resolution.
- Deliver executive-level reporting and insights to senior leadership.
- Partner with finance on budgeting, forecasting and spend tracking.
- Implement tools and processes to improve collaboration, planning and execution; document best practices.
- Engage cross-functional stakeholders to align business objectives and engineering priorities.
Requirements
Must-have skills, experience and competencies for successful performance in this role.
- 10+ years of industry experience with strong engineering leadership and track record managing complex cross-functional initiatives.
- Technical program management or engineering management background with experience in large engineering organizations.
- Deep understanding of semiconductor product lifecycle and engineering processes.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; able to produce data-driven insights for leadership.
- Strong executive communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with documentation, reporting and collaboration tools is a plus.
- Ability to standardize processes and implement operational tooling across teams.
- Experience with headcount planning, workforce management, and organizational design.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electronics, Computer Science, or a related engineering field; or equivalent practical experience in engineering and semiconductor organizations.
