Engineering Intern - PMIC Validation Automation for Automotive Safety
Role Summary
Work with the NXP Toulouse PMIC system-validation team to automate test execution, equipment control, data collection, analysis, and report generation for automotive power-management integrated circuits.
The role focuses on software to control test benches, run measurement campaigns on analog and digital signals, and ensure test reproducibility and traceability required for automotive safety standards.
Experience Level
Internship / Entry-level - intended for final-year engineering students (Master's level, Bac+5).
Responsibilities
Assigned tasks will include development, verification, and execution of automated PMIC validation flows.
- Design and develop test control and automation software.
- Write unit tests and validate software components.
- Execute measurement campaigns on PMICs and test benches.
- Analyze measurement results and implement automated report generation.
- Integrate and control lab equipment; log configuration and test parameters for traceability.
Requirements
Core technical skills and language ability expected for the internship.
- Must-have: Knowledge of analog electronics (LDOs, SMPS) and digital logic / state machines.
- Must-have: Programming and scripting: Python and C/C++; experience with software architecture and unit testing.
- Must-have: Experience with LabVIEW or similar equipment-control software.
- Must-have: Good level of English (reading and communication).
- Nice-to-have: Experience with Cadence tools (Windows preferred).
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with automotive test practices (e.g. ISO pulses, transient load tests) and test reproducibility practices required by ISO 26262.
Education Requirements
Final year engineering student (Bac +5 / Master's level) in electrical engineering, electronics, computer science, or a closely related engineering discipline.
