Engineering Intern - Digital SoC Design (Design-for-Test)
Role Summary
Internship within the Digital SoC Design team to support Design-for-Test (DFT) activities for complex mixed-signal SoCs used in secure transaction applications. Work with experienced engineers to develop, simulate and improve test sequences and DFT methodologies across the RTL-to-implementation flow.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship. Intended for final-year engineering students or Master's students with academic experience in digital/SoC design and verification.
Responsibilities
You will be assigned a DFT work package and expected to contribute across the test development flow.
- Understand the DFT architecture used in the SoC.
- Learn and use the CAD environment for DFT activities.
- Develop test sequences to improve fault coverage.
- Simulate, analyze and debug test sequences.
- Evaluate existing DFT methodologies and propose flow improvements.
- Collaborate with design, verification and implementation teams throughout the development cycle.
- Document work and present progress and results to the project team.
Requirements
Technical must-haves and desirable skills for an immediate contributor to DFT work.
- Must-have: Experience with RTL design and simulation using VHDL and/or Verilog.
- Good understanding of digital logic design and semiconductor fundamentals.
- Familiarity with scripting/programming (Python, Perl, or Tcl) and willingness to develop automation skills.
- Ability to use CAD tools and learn DFT CAD flows.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills; autonomy and curiosity.
- Proficiency in French and English (written and spoken).
- Nice-to-have: Prior exposure to DFT concepts or production test experience.
Education Requirements
Final-year engineering student or Master's student in Electronics, Microelectronics, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Industrial Computer Science or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
