NXP SemiconductorsJob Title
Engineering Intern - Design of Analog Amplifiers Using Auto-Zero Techniques
Role Summary
Internship within NXP's Smart Front-End & Interfaces product line in Caen focused on architecture and transistor-level design of analog amplifiers using auto-zero techniques for millimeter-wave interface applications.
Deliver simulation-based demonstrations, a technical report, and design recommendations to support potential continuation as a master thesis, PhD, or permanent R&D position.
Experience Level
Internship / Entry-level - final-year electronics engineering student (last year of engineering school). No specific professional experience required beyond relevant academic projects.
Responsibilities
Expect to research, simulate, design, and optimize auto-zero amplifier architectures. Key responsibilities include:
- Study limitations of existing auto-zero amplifier architectures in advanced CMOS technologies.
- Explore and propose circuit structures to improve precision and robustness.
- Perform transistor-level simulations to evaluate offset, noise, bandwidth, and stability.
- Implement, optimize, and validate selected architectures through simulation.
- Prepare a technical report and provide concrete design recommendations.
Requirements
Must-have skills and attributes:
- Strong understanding of analog circuit design fundamentals and MOS transistor operation.
- Experience with Cadence design and simulation tools (Virtuoso, Spectre, Maestro).
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Enthusiasm, curiosity, and a strong ability to learn independently.
Education Requirements
Final-year student in an electronics engineering school (diplôme d'ingénieur / engineering degree, equivalent to a Master's-level engineering qualification).
