Engineering Architect (Analog Mixed-Signal Architect)
SynopsysJob Title
Engineering Architect (Analog Mixed-Signal Architect)
Role Summary
Senior engineering role on the High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) interface design team. The role focuses on architecting analog mixed-signal IP and enabling integration of multichip and interposer technologies into HBM PHY products.
Work includes floorplan and bump-map definition, interposer geometry and covercell optimization, cross-disciplinary collaboration with layout and SIPI teams, and technical leadership across sites.
Experience Level
Senior β requires substantial industry experience; the posting specifies 15+ years in memory or die-to-die interface design.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include architecting HBM PHY integration and guiding layout and interposer implementation.
- Review and integrate multichip and interposer technologies from foundries into HBM PHY products.
- Define bump maps and top-level floorplans to meet performance, power, and area (PPA) targets.
- Collaborate with layout teams to deliver top-metal covercells optimized for performance and reliability.
- Work with layout and SIPI teams to design interposer geometries that maximize signal and power integrity.
- Troubleshoot and debug memory interfaces and related integration issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across multi-site teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 15+ years of experience in memory or die-to-die interface design.
- Expertise in floorplan optimization for IP that integrates full-custom analog and synthesized digital blocks.
- Strong experience with power grid design and EMIR analysis.
- Proficiency in interposer design and implementation.
- Solid analog design knowledge (bandgaps, LDO regulators, current mirrors, DLLs/PLLs).
- Deep understanding of signal-integrity and power-integrity principles.
- Experience assessing layout impact on circuit performance and reliability.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for multi-site teams.
Education Requirements
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field (explicitly specified). No alternative "equivalent experience" language was provided.
