MicrochipJob Title
Engineer - Yield Enhancement
Role Summary
Work on process integration, device and yield improvement for technology development and transferred product projects at Microchip's Hsinchu development center. The role focuses on analyzing early-stage yields, driving continuous improvement projects, and coordinating with internal teams, test houses, and foundries to improve product quality and manufacturing yield.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting requests approximately 4β8 years of relevant technology development experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead process integration and yield improvement activities for NPI and transferred products.
- Analyze engineering-sample yields and characterize performance and manufacturing yield windows; perform bench correlations to meet product cost targets.
- Perform data mining and statistical analysis of wafer sort and final test parametrics to support initial product evaluation.
- Monitor trace probe yield, final test yield, and Etest/WAT; identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
- Collaborate with product, test engineering, technology, test-house, and foundry teams to improve process, testing, and logistics.
- Design and execute DOE with foundries, analyze results, and implement Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP).
- Support test engineering in resolving test-procedure issues.
- Manage complex projects independently and with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
Essential skills and experience:
- 4β8 years of experience in technology development with focus on process integration, device, and yield engineering.
- Preferred technical domain knowledge: FINFET, NVM, or BCD/HV.
- Basic product knowledge across MCU, NVM, HV/Sensor, Network/Ethernet, Data Center, and ASIC products.
- Strong English communication, analytical decision-making, and leadership in multicultural, cross-functional environments.
- Experience with JMP scripting or the ability to use JMP for statistical analysis.
