Job Title

Engineer, Product Applications

Role Summary

Provide application engineering support for ADI's DC-DC converter products: evaluate silicon, design and test evaluation boards, create reference designs and documentation, and support customers and internal teams.

Work with the power applications engineering team to deliver evaluation results, technical reports, datasheets, and application notes. Position requires approximately 10% travel and is day-shift.

Entry-level / Early career — 0+ years of relevant experience expected.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include hands-on evaluation, board design, documentation, and customer technical support.

  • Perform silicon bench evaluation and functional testing of DC-DC converters.
  • Design, build, and test evaluation and reference boards.
  • Develop reference design reports and review customer schematics and PCB layouts.
  • Produce and edit datasheets, application notes, and technical documentation.
  • Create simulations and develop lab automation for testing and characterization.
  • Provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders during product evaluation and integration.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • Fundamental knowledge of power electronics and DC-DC converter operation.
  • Practical experience with PCB design and reviewing PCB layouts.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and hardware debugging.
  • Experience creating and running simulations for power circuits (e.g., Simplis or LTSpice preferred).
  • Proficiency in technical writing and producing engineering reports.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Python or LabVIEW for test automation or data analysis.
  • Prior experience specifically with DC-DC converters and analog circuit basics.
  • 1–3 years of relevant industry experience.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE). Preferred: Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE).
