Engineer - Memory Layout
Role Summary
Work in Arm's Physical IP Division developing and validating memory IP (SRAM and register files) for advanced process nodes. The role focuses on design, characterization, verification and release of memory instances used in SoC designs across server, mobile and IoT applications.
Experience Level
Mid-level β 2β5 years of experience in memory design or characterization.
Responsibilities
Deliver and validate memory instances across views and flows; improve automation and verification to meet performance, power and area targets.
- Design, margining, characterization, verification and release of memory instances (single-port, dual-port SRAM, register files).
- Create and validate views including Verilog, Liberty, schematics, LEF and GDS.
- Use EDA tools for development and verification; debug and optimize memory IP.
- Develop automation and scripting to support characterization and release flows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support integration into SoC environments.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional attributes.
- 2β5 years' experience in memory design or characterization.
- Strong understanding of SRAM operation, digital circuit fundamentals and SoC concepts.
- Good understanding of device physics.
- Working knowledge of scripting (Shell, TCL); experience using AI tools is desirable.
- Problem solving and debugging skills; ability to work independently and in teams.
- Good analytical and interpersonal skills; adaptable and willing to accept new challenges.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with computer architecture.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering.
