Engineer - Memory Design

Role Summary

Develop, characterize, verify and release SRAM and register-file memory IP instances for advanced process technologies within Arm's Physical IP division in Noida. The role focuses on performance, power and density optimization and on automating memory design and verification flows.

Experience Level

Entry-level (0–2 years) β€” early-career engineer with experience or internships in memory design or characterization.

Responsibilities

Primary duties involve operating within the memory IP development and release flow.

  • Perform margining, characterization, verification and release of memory instances.
  • Work on single-port and dual-port SRAMs and register-file designs.
  • Validate and analyze different views: Verilog, Liberty, schematics, LEF and GDS.
  • Use EDA tools for simulation, timing analysis and sign-off activities.
  • Create and maintain automation scripts to streamline flows; adopt AI-assisted techniques where appropriate.
  • Debug design and verification issues and document results for handoff.
  • Collaborate with design, verification and tooling teams to meet delivery milestones.

Requirements

Technical and interpersonal skills required for successful execution of the role.

  • 0–2 years experience in memory design or characterization.
  • Good understanding of SRAM and digital circuit fundamentals.
  • Basic understanding of device physics.
  • Working knowledge of scripting (Shell, Tcl) and automation techniques.
  • Familiarity with EDA and verification tools and typical memory verification flows.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging and analytical skills; ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Nice-to-have: understanding of computer architecture and practical experience applying AI tools in workflows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering (B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech) is specified.
