Job Title

Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering

Role Summary

Responsible for improving manufacturing yield and product/test health for analog semiconductor products at the Gandhinagar manufacturing site. Works across design, fab, wafer sort, ETest/WAT and final test teams to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive process and test improvements.

Leads projects with minimal supervision, mentors junior engineers, and collaborates with global teams; role requires flexible hours to overlap global time zones.

Experience Level

Entry-level — Graduate position; 0–1 years of professional experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include leading investigations and improvements across fabrication and test to improve yield and product quality:

  • Perform root cause analysis for low yields using advanced data analysis tools.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions for systematic process, yield, ETest/WAT and wafer sort issues.
  • Connect failures observed at ETest/WAT/wafer sort to inline defect modes and drive fixes with design and fab teams.
  • Own product or product line health and disposition of hold material accurately and within targets.
  • Lead projects end-to-end with minimal supervision and mentor junior engineers.
  • Collaborate with global/remote teams to resolve yield and test issues.
  • Identify design and test issues and coordinate fixes with design and test floors.
  • Work flexible hours, including night shifts and weekends, to support 24x7 operations when required.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, work-style expectations, and experience.

  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, wafer fabrication, and test engineering (wafer sort, final test, ETest/WAT).
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills; experience with statistical/process-yield analysis.
  • Ability to lead projects and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools and data analysis tools.
  • Result-oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules and shifts to overlap global time zones.
  • Available for occasional travel (approximately 10%).

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing/testing, yield engineering, or related domains (LED, solar).
  • Knowledge of CMOS device physics and design/test sensitivity analysis.

Education Requirements

BE/BTech or ME/MTech in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, VLSI, Design or related engineering fields from a reputed institute. Listing indicates a graduate-level candidate with a strong academic record (approximately 7+ CGPA); position targeted at recent graduates (0–1 year experience).
