Role Summary
Join the Secure Computing Group as a Digital/Firmware Design Engineer working on cryptographic hardware security solutions. The role focuses on digital logic design and embedded programming for microcontroller-based security features, collaborating with senior engineers across design, verification, and integration.
This is a full-time, on-site position contributing to secure electronic products for security-sensitive and automotive markets.
Experience Level
Mid-level (Engineer II). Preferred 2.5–5 years of professional experience in a technical industry role.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include design, firmware development, verification, and integration of secure embedded systems.
- Implement integrated circuits combining embedded microcontrollers, cryptographic algorithms, supporting hardware functions, and firmware.
- Design, implement, and document embedded processor firmware modules or validation suites.
- Participate in verification and bring-up by writing test cases, debugging code, and collaborating with peers.
- Support design integration activities including Clock Domain Crossing (CDC), synthesis, and Design-for-Test (DFT) while addressing timing, power, and logic issues.
- Perform additional job-related tasks as directed by management.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 2.5–5 years of professional experience in a related technical role.
- Proficiency in embedded programming languages: C/C++, Python, TCL, or assembly.
- Experience with code structure optimization and revision/release management.
- Firmware development experience or strong interest in ARM, AVR, or PIC microcontroller platforms.
- Exposure to embedded software driver development.
- Experience with source control tools such as GIT and SVN.
- Scripting and automation skills: Unix/Linux shell, Perl/Python/Ruby, Makefile, or similar.
- Strong verbal and written communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
