Engineer II - Digital ASIC Design
Role Summary
Implement RTL (SystemVerilog) for complex digital IP blocks and drive designs from micro-architecture through delivery. Lead verification and static-check efforts and collaborate with SoC integration and physical design teams to meet timing, power, and area targets.
Experience Level
Mid-level; 2.5–5 years of ASIC or FPGA digital design experience expected.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Implement RTL (SystemVerilog) for complex digital IP from micro-architecture to delivery.
- Drive power, performance, and area (PPA) trade-offs and optimizations to meet product targets.
- Collaborate with SoC integration teams on connectivity, top-level timing, and congestion issues.
- Lead lint, CDC, RDC, and formal verification efforts.
- Work with physical design teams to close timing and resolve routing bottlenecks.
- Verify and validate module and system functions; organize design documentation.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 2.5–5 years of proven ASIC or FPGA digital design experience.
- Proficient in SystemVerilog with strong understanding of synchronous and asynchronous design techniques.
- Experience with front-end EDA flow tools (examples: VCS, SpyGlass, Design Compiler, PrimeTime).
- Proficient with scripting to improve engineering efficiency (e.g., Python, Tcl, shell).
- Post-silicon validation or bring-up experience; familiarity with lab equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.).
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with PHY/SerDes protocols; knowledge of IEEE 802.3 is a plus.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering.
