Engineer I - Product/Test
Role Summary
Work with product and test engineers in the Timing and Communication Product Group to support product development, testing, and lab/test-floor operations for semiconductor timing products. Focus areas include cost reduction, new product releases, and providing general support for lab equipment and automated test systems.
Experience Level
Entry-level. 0–2 years of semiconductor industry experience expected.
Responsibilities
The engineer will support new product testing, lab maintenance, and data analysis.
- Procure, maintain, and repair lab and tester hardware.
- Operate and support IC automated test equipment (ATE) and handlers for sampling, characterization, correlation, qualification, and customer returns.
- Perform statistical analysis of production and engineering test data.
- Analyze product parametric performance against datasheet specifications.
- Write, verify, and maintain test/program scripts.
- Conduct IC stress evaluations and provide test-floor support.
Requirements
Must-have technical and interpersonal skills:
- Experience with lab equipment such as power supplies and oscilloscopes.
- Experience with PC board debug and repair.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary, multi-location team.
- Proficient with standard MS Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with IC automated test equipment.
- Knowledge of semiconductor device characteristics and statistics.
- Software programming experience.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline such as Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science is expected. The posting specifies 0–2 years of semiconductor industry experience.
