Role Summary
The Engineer I - Product/Test will support semiconductor product development within the Networking & Connectivity Solutions (NCS) Business Unit in Austin, TX. The role focuses on developing, characterizing, qualifying, and releasing connectivity products including Ethernet, USB, and PCIe.
This is an early-career, individual-contributor position that works with engineering, quality, reliability, and manufacturing teams to move products from silicon bring-up through production release.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Engineer I).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Support new product introduction from silicon bring-up through production release.
- Perform product characterization, qualification, and yield analysis.
- Develop and maintain automated test solutions and test programs.
- Analyze electrical and manufacturing data to identify and resolve product issues.
- Collaborate with design, validation, quality, reliability, and manufacturing teams.
- Drive improvements in product quality, test efficiency, and manufacturing performance.
Requirements
Must-have skills and attributes:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and digital multimeters.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated individual contributor able to work proactively in a collaborative environment.
- Technical writing and editing skills to create clear engineering documentation.
Nice-to-have:
- Programming or scripting experience (Python, C/C++, VBA, etc.).
- Prior internship experience in electronics.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
