Job Title

Engineer - HIG HBM - PE Design Validation

Role Summary

Validate physical-engineering (PE) designs for High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) within the HIG HBM team. Perform simulation, lab and ATE analysis, and cross-functional debugging to ensure manufacturability, testability, and reliability of HBM designs.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” up to 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on validation, debugging, data analysis, and cross-functional coordination across design, manufacturing, test and quality teams.

  • Serve as the key interface between Design, Manufacturing, Test, Quality, PE teams, and external customers for validation issues.
  • Validate testmodes and design functionality using simulation, statistical data analysis, and ATE/bench testing.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and resolve manufacturing, test, and quality issues via lab debugging, circuit simulation, and data review.
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of JEDEC HBM specifications and internal architecture documentation to support validation work.
  • Review schematics and layouts as needed to identify design-related risks and fixes.
  • Use in-house statistical tools to assess validation results and support risk assessments.
  • Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights where appropriate to improve efficiency and quality, and share improvements with the team.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and propose innovations to procedures and validation methods.

Requirements

Core technical skills and personal attributes required for the role.

  • Strong knowledge of VLSI concepts, semiconductor processes, and basic device physics.
  • Hands-on exposure to schematic review, circuit simulation, data analysis, lab debugging, or pattern manipulation.
  • Experience with Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; self-motivated and able to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in team-based projects and communicate across functional groups.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with ATE systems and bench test equipment.
  • Experience working on memory designs or multi-die/TSV stacking technologies.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
