Job Title

Engineer - HIG HBM - PE Design Validation

Role Summary

Responsible for design validation and product engineering for High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) within the Heterogeneous Integration Group (HIG). Acts as a key technical interface across Design, Manufacturing, Test and Quality to validate test modes, debug hardware and software issues, and drive qualification activities for HBM products.

Work involves simulation, lab and ATE analysis, data-driven validation, and developing verification approaches for complex stacked-memory designs (TSV, logic+DRAM stacks).

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” up to 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Validate HBM design and test modes, investigate failures, and coordinate across teams to resolve manufacturing and test issues.

  • Perform simulations, bench/ATE analysis, and engineering data analysis to validate design and test modes.
  • Debug hardware and software issues in the lab; perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Design, PE, Manufacturing, Test, Quality, and external customers to transfer and qualify designs.
  • Develop and document internal architecture, schematic and layout understanding aligned with JEDEC HBM specifications.
  • Identify and propose process or test improvements; contribute AI-assisted tools or automation to improve workflows.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes for performing validation and lab/debug work.

  • Must-have: Strong knowledge of VLSI, semiconductor processes, and basic device physics.
  • Must-have: Exposure to schematic capture, circuit simulation, engineering data analysis, lab debug, or pattern manipulation.
  • Must-have: Experience with one or more hardware description languages: Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog.
  • Must-have: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; self-motivated and able to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must-have: Ability to work effectively in team-based projects and cross-functional settings.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior exposure to ATE workflows, qualification processes, or AI-enabled validation enhancements.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
