Engineer - HIG HBM - PE Design Validation
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Engineer - HIG HBM - PE Design Validation
Role Summary
The engineer will validate power-engineering (PE) design and testmodes for High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) in the Heterogeneous Integration Group (HIG). The role performs simulation, lab and ATE analysis, debugging, and data-driven validation to ensure manufacturability and product reliability across Design, Manufacturing, Test and Quality teams.
Work includes verification and validation of complex stacked DRAM/logic designs (TSV/packaging context), creating internal design documentation, and contributing AI-enabled process improvements.
Experience Level
Entry-level - up to 2 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Key day-to-day responsibilities and interfaces.
- Act as cross-functional interface between Design, Manufacturing, Test, Quality and external customers; coordinate with PE teams.
- Perform validation of testmodes and designs using simulation, statistical data analysis, and ATE/bench measurements.
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing/test/quality issues via hardware and software lab debugging, circuit simulation, and data analysis.
- Create and maintain internal architecture, schematic and layout documentation; ensure compliance with JEDEC HBM specifications.
- Apply and share AI-assisted tools and workflows to improve efficiency, quality, and validation effectiveness.
- Contribute to verification strategy, risk assessment, and continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
Must-have skills and relevant experience. Items labeled "Nice-to-have" are desirable but not required.
- Must-have: Strong knowledge of VLSI concepts, semiconductor process fundamentals, and basic device physics.
- Must-have: Exposure to schematic capture, circuit simulation, engineering data analysis, lab debug, or pattern manipulation.
- Must-have: Experience with one or more HDL languages: Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog.
- Must-have: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to perform root-cause analysis from lab and manufacturing data.
- Must-have: Self-motivated, quick learner, and effective contributor in team-based projects.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with ATE systems, bench measurement techniques, circuit-level simulation tools, or JEDEC HBM details.
- Nice-to-have: Experience applying AI or automation to engineering data analysis or validation workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
