Role Summary

As a Device Engineer in the R&D DRAM Device and Cell Technology Group at Micron, you will work in a leading 300mm R&D facility to enable future memory scaling. Your responsibilities include testing and characterizing future DRAM memory, analyzing electrical failures and probe data, defining electrical specifications, and improving yield, quality, and overall cell performance.

Mid-level; 5+ years of experience required.

Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Develop understanding of process and device requirements for current and future DRAM memory technologies and help establish electrical specifications.
  • Characterize the memory array and model cell device properties to identify improvement opportunities for yield and quality metrics.
  • Contribute to cell material and process flow definition.
  • Develop physical and electrical models for yield-limiting mechanisms in DRAM technologies using statistical data analysis.
  • Evaluate in-line, probe, parametric, and back-end data.
  • Implement experiments and stress tests to evaluate DRAM memory cell and access device capabilities and properties.
  • Analyze memory management and ECC to enhance product quality and reliability.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A detailed knowledge of memory technologies such as DRAM, NAND, NOR, and SRAM, gained through industry experience.
  • Ability to characterize DRAM memory arrays and guide process development.
  • Expertise in device physics and familiarity with Process Integration & Circuit/Architecture issues.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, DOE, and statistical techniques (JMP, Python).
  • Education: MS (+ 5 years of experience) or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.

Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field is required.
