Engineer, Design Evaluation Engineering

Role Summary

Validate and characterize complex mixed-signal integrated circuits in the GMSL SerDes group at Analog Devices' Automotive Cabin Experience Istanbul Design Center. Work hands-on on prototype evaluation, hardware debug, and development of characterization platforms, collaborating with digital, analog, application, and test engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include bench evaluation, platform development, and automation for characterization of IC prototypes.

  • Perform functional bench evaluation and detailed tests to identify functional limitations and performance bottlenecks in IC prototypes.
  • Design and develop characterization PCBs and test platforms for next-generation GMSL chips.
  • Implement APIs and scripts to automate characterization and test flows.
  • Collaborate with digital, analog, application, and test engineering teams to debug and validate designs.
  • Support prototype bring-up, measurement, and reporting; document test procedures and results.
  • Travel for work-related activities as required (approximately 10%).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes, plus common nice-to-have items.

  • Practical experience with electronic systems architecture, hardware design understanding, and hardware debug.
  • Experience with PCB design and layout for characterization/test boards.
  • Experience writing scripts or code to automate tests and interfaces (ability to implement APIs and test scripts).
  • Strong English communication and teamwork skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Python programming; experience with I2C, SPI, UART, I2S; embedded development experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science (BSEE) or Master of Science (MSEE) in Electrical Engineering with specialization in IC/hardware testing or characterization is listed as preferred.
