Job Title

Engineer, Design Evaluation Engineering

Role Summary

Design and implement bench test solutions and characterization plans for new MEMS products. Execute electrical and functional evaluation, generate test methodologies and evaluation reports, and collaborate with Design and Test Engineering teams to validate product performance.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically requires at least 3 years of experience in a semiconductor test and measurement environment.

Responsibilities

Accountable for test development, execution, and reporting for MEMS products.

  • Design and develop bench test setups and automated test sequences for new products.
  • Author characterization plans, test methodologies, and evaluation reports.
  • Perform electrical and functional testing using lab instruments and automated systems.
  • Analyze measurement data, perform statistical analysis, and support yield or reliability investigations.
  • Work with Design and Test Engineering to reproduce, diagnose, and resolve device issues.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment and document test procedures.
  • Support product release activities and cross-functional project timelines.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in semiconductor test and measurement.
  • Solid knowledge of electronics and circuit analysis; familiarity with amplifiers, PLLs, ADCs, and DACs.
  • Experience with IC/module test and measurement systems.
  • Proficient with bench equipment: SourceMeter, oscilloscope, frequency counter, spectrum analyzer.
  • Programming experience in NI-LabVIEW, VBA/VB.Net, or C++ for test automation.
  • Strong project management, statistical analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication; ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with JMP, Exensio/Spotfire; familiarity with MEMS devices.

Education Requirements

Graduate of a Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electronics Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. MS coursework/units is an advantage.
