Engineer, Customer Validation, SSD

Role Summary

Develop and maintain automated validation infrastructure and test automation to assess Enterprise SSD interoperability, functionality, and reliability across customer storage environments and platforms.

Work with firmware, hardware, test, and product teams to improve validation coverage, reproduce and diagnose integration failures, and increase release readiness.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing, implementing, and running automated validation and test infrastructure to validate SSDs across platforms and operating systems.

• Develop, integrate, and maintain interfaces for test equipment, validation tools, and automation frameworks.
• Define, plan, and execute automated test strategies to improve coverage, scalability, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with firmware, hardware, test, and product teams to align validation with product features and customer needs.
• Troubleshoot SSD, software, and platform integration issues; reproduce failures and lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Evaluate and improve validation methodologies to detect defects earlier in the lifecycle.
• Document test methodologies, workflows, validation results, and lessons learned for traceability.
• Support Agile planning, execution tracking, and continuous improvement activities across global teams.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to increase test scalability and repeatability.
• Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights where appropriate to improve efficiency and quality.

Requirements

Must-have technical and professional skills for success in this role.

• Proficient in Python and object-oriented software design.
• Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
• Experience with test automation, integrating test equipment, or automation frameworks.
• Strong structured problem analysis, root-cause investigation, and corrective-action skills.
• Ability to reproduce and debug platform integration issues involving SSDs and software.
• Clear technical communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience working in Agile environments and managing multiple priorities across stakeholders.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with OS kernel, drivers, or low-level OS components (Windows or Linux).
• Experience with datacenter server platforms, storage systems, hardware validation, or debug activities.
• Knowledge of NVMe, PCIe, firmware, device drivers, and OS interaction patterns.
• Familiarity with operating system APIs for process control, memory management, and device driver interactions.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. or higher in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
