Engineer - BT/UWB Validation and System Integration
Role Summary
Member of the BT/UWB validation and system integration team responsible for testing hardware IP and lower-layer controller firmware across pre-silicon emulation and post-silicon environments. Work closely with hardware, firmware, SoC and systems teams to bring-up, integrate and validate connectivity products.
Experience Level
Mid-level - typically 1–6 years of relevant ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related experience.
Responsibilities
The role focuses on hands-on validation, debugging, automation and cross-functional integration for connectivity products.
- Validate BT/UWB (and related wireless) IP and lower-layer controller firmware on pre-silicon emulation and post-silicon platforms.
- System bring-up and integration for SoC connectivity functions.
- Develop and maintain test cases and automation in C, Python, TCL, .CMM or similar scripting languages.
- Troubleshoot HW/FW/SW issues and coordinate fixes with cross-functional teams.
- Analyze issues and support bug resolution during final program stages and customer engagements.
- Perform software and hardware debug of test failures and document findings.
- Plan and execute development, testing and maintenance activities with teammates.
- Communicate status, risks and defects to team leads and stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for day-to-day work. Education qualifications are listed under Education Requirements below.
- Proficient in C and Python; experience with scripting for test automation (TCL, .CMM, etc.).
- Validation experience in wireless systems (Bluetooth, UWB, WLAN, cellular, IEEE 802.15.4).
- Experience with pre-silicon and post-silicon SoC bare-metal/FW validation, including power and performance testing and automated test execution.
- Strong hardware–software boundary debugging skills using JTAG, serial consoles and vendor tools.
- Familiarity with microcontroller architectures such as RISC-V, Andes, ARM.
- Knowledge of common interfaces: JTAG, J-Link, UART, SPI, I2C, I3C, USB.
- Practical lab experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, Bluetooth testers, protocol analyzers and RF test equipment.
- Self-motivated, adaptable team player with responsibility ownership and clear communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with AI tools and their practical usage in engineering workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering (including BTech) with ~2+ years' relevant experience; or Master's degree (including MTech) with ~1+ year; or PhD in Science, Engineering or a related technical field.
