Role Summary

Join the Ground Systems Development Department in Manhattan Beach, CA to develop and integrate electronic test systems and hardware units for space flight programs. The role focuses on FPGA and PCB architecture, hardware testing, system integration, and delivering design reviews to internal and external customers.

Experience Level

Entry / Early Career. Typical background: 2+ years hardware engineering experience with a STEM Bachelor's degree, or a STEM Master's degree with no required prior experience.

Responsibilities

The engineer will serve as a responsible design engineer supporting digital hardware development and verification activities across programs.

  • Act as the responsible design engineer (RDE) for digital hardware development.
  • Design and integrate FPGA architecture and associated PCB/CCA hardware.
  • Develop and execute board-, unit-, and subsystem-level hardware tests and analysis.
  • Design, develop, and support electronic test systems that verify specification requirements.
  • Prepare and present design reviews and technical briefings to customers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to meet schedule and technical requirements.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and relevant experience.

  • Hardware testing experience at the board, unit, or subsystem level.
  • Experience in electronic test environments that verify specification requirements.
  • FPGA development and functional simulation skills.
  • PCB/CCA design and development experience.
  • Previous experience as an electrical or hardware designer.
  • Ability to develop and present design reviews and conduct customer briefings (preferred).
  • Experience integrating electronic test systems for complex programs (preferred).

Education Requirements

STEM Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of hardware engineering experience, OR a STEM Master's degree with no required prior hardware engineering experience. (Fields described as "STEM"; no specific majors were listed in the source.)
