Engineer, Analog Design Engineering
Analog DevicesJob Title
Engineer, Analog Design Engineering
Role Summary
Design and develop analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for sensor interfaces, data converters, filters, power distribution, and related subsystems. Work on block- and transistor-level design, simulation, layout considerations, and validation within a cross-functional semiconductor development team.
This role reports to experienced engineering staff and contributes to product development under normal supervision while gaining professional development opportunities.
Experience Level
Entry-level (early career). The role expects roughly 2+ years of relevant analog circuit design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include circuit design, verification, and collaboration across disciplines.
- Design and develop analog and mixed-signal IC blocks (sensor interfaces, data converters, multiplexers, filters, power distribution).
- Perform block- and transistor-level simulation, evaluation, and debugging to verify performance across specified conditions.
- Ensure designs meet performance across process, voltage, and temperature (PVT) ranges.
- Work closely with product definition, verification, process, test, and applications teams to meet performance objectives.
- Create and maintain documentation of designs, test results, and technical specifications.
- Apply statistical design methods to improve robustness and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design issues with guidance from senior engineers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience for successful performance in this role.
- Analog circuit design: Practical knowledge of amplifiers, filters, and data converters and ability to implement these under supervision.
- Mixed-signal IC design: Working understanding of analog/digital integration techniques.
- Simulation and modeling: Proficiency with SPICE and familiarity with MATLAB and Cadence Design Suite for validating designs.
- IC layout awareness: Understanding of physical layout considerations and hands-on experience with layout tools.
- CMOS technology: Knowledge of CMOS circuit design principles and practical application.
- ADC/DAC fundamentals: Basic understanding of analog/digital conversion concepts and challenges.
- Laboratory skills: Experience using oscilloscopes, function generators, and spectrum analyzers for validation and troubleshooting.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with IC design for sensor interfaces, data converters, or power management.
- Familiarity with statistical design methods applied to semiconductor products.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field is specified.
