Embedded System Intern for Pre-Silicon Validation

Role Summary

Join the Coherent DSP pre-silicon validation team to help build and maintain the emulation platform used for RTL-to-firmware integration, pre-silicon validation, and bring-up of coherent DSP ASICs. You will work with engineers across simulation, emulation, and firmware to accelerate chip development.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Candidates should be actively pursuing a technical degree and close to graduation (see education section for details).

Responsibilities

The role focuses on supporting the emulation and test infrastructure for pre-silicon validation.

• Develop and maintain test plans and testbenches for CDSP projects.
• Use dedicated hardware and emulation platforms to accelerate simulation workloads and validate RTL/firmware interaction.
• Work with senior engineers to optimize emulation platform performance and workflows.
• Support HW/SW integration and bring-up activities for pre-silicon verification.
• Document test results and assist in debugging issues found during validation.

Requirements

• Must-have: Practical experience programming in C, C++, and Python.
• Must-have: Familiarity with object-oriented and low-level programming concepts; understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• Must-have: Basic HW/SW debugging techniques and ability to follow debugging workflows.
• Must-have: Good verbal and written English communication skills.
• Must-have: Spanish: native or fluent.
• Nice-to-have: Knowledge of Verilog or digital design concepts.

Education Requirements

Candidate must be actively pursuing a degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Candidates should be near completion: fewer than five final exams remaining or less than one year until graduation.
