Embedded Solutions Intern

Role Summary

Implement FPGA designs and embedded software features for FPGA-SoC devices. The role involves hands-on work with hardware and software, including use of physical development kits.

Work within the Embedded Solutions team to develop customer-facing solutions while collaborating with silicon design, CAD tool, applications engineering, and product planning.

Experience Level

Entry-level intern. Intended for students pursuing a Bachelor's degree with at least several months of related coursework or project experience.

Responsibilities

Contribute to FPGA and embedded software development and collaborate across functional teams.

• Implement and verify FPGA designs and digital logic using Verilog and toolchains.
• Develop and debug low-level embedded software in C/C++.
• Use development kits and hardware to test and validate designs.
• Collaborate with silicon design, CAD tool, applications engineering, and product planning teams.
• Support customer design examples and technical demonstrations.

Requirements

Essential skills and qualifications for the internship (education listed separately).

• Programming experience in C; familiarity with C++, Python, or Java.
• Exposure to digital design and Verilog through coursework or projects.
• Interest in low-level programming and embedded systems.
• Self-starter with strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Eligibility for any required Canadian export authorizations.

Education Requirements

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a similar technical field. The posting expects at least ~3 months of relevant coursework or project experience in programming or digital design.
