Embedded Software Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Architecture and Technology Group (ATG) to develop embedded software, boot flows, methodologies and tools for Arm architecture compliance kits used by internal and external CPU design teams. The role delivers high-quality, scalable firmware and automation to validate CPU and system IP implementations.

This is a hands-on engineering role that interfaces with cross-functional teams and external partners to influence architecture verification and future product offerings.

Mid-level β€” typically requires 3+ years of professional engineering experience in embedded software, boot flows, firmware, or driver development.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement embedded software and methodologies to exercise and validate CPU and system architecture features.
  • Develop boot flows, firmware, drivers and automation used in architecture compliance kits.
  • Own and drive methodology, build flow or automation projects end-to-end.
  • Report progress, surface risks, and ensure engineering commitments are delivered on schedule.
  • Collaborate with internal ATG teams and external partners to integrate verification and validation solutions.
  • Identify and implement efficiency improvements in development processes and toolchains.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • 3+ years of experience focusing on embedded software, boot flows, firmware or driver development.
  • Proven experience owning methodology, automation or build-flow projects.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to work autonomously.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with C/C++, assembly and software engineering best practices.
  • Understanding of basic computer architecture and CPU verification concepts.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux development environments.
  • Experience developing test plans and testcases for verification.

Education Requirements

Good university degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electronics Engineering is preferred; other degrees or equivalent practical experience will be considered.
