Embedded Software Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Wireless SDK Development team in Budapest to develop Bluetooth SDKs, Bluetooth Mesh SDKs, development tools, and IDE integrations used by customers and partners. The role focuses on firmware and software development, build engineering, and tooling for Silicon Labs wireless products.
Experience Level
Entry-level - 0–2 years of professional software development experience. New college graduates are welcome to apply.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include:
- Develop embedded software solutions on Silicon Labs wireless chips and protocol stacks.
- Design and implement applications and wireless profiles built on Bluetooth stacks.
- Contribute to firmware, build engineering, and scripting for Bluetooth product lines.
- Collaborate with Application Engineers to understand customer use cases and deliver effective solutions.
Requirements
Key skills and experience.
- Must-have: Practical experience in embedded software development using embedded C.
- Familiarity with scripting languages for build automation and tooling.
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
- Experience with AI-powered tools and technologies to enhance productivity and analysis.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with Bluetooth, 802.15.4, Zigbee; knowledge of TCP/IP networking and security (TLS, IPsec, ECC, PKI); experience with simulations and hardware testing.
Education Requirements
BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
