Embedded Software Engineer

Role Summary

Join the IoT Validation Software team to design, implement, test, and support software tools for automated verification and validation of IoT MCU and wireless SoC products. Work spans embedded development, hardware enablement, driver and test development, and desktop object-oriented applications.

Mid-level. The team is open to candidates across different experience levels; no strict years-of-experience requirement was specified.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on building software infrastructure and test capabilities to validate silicon and board-level hardware.

  • Develop and maintain robust, scalable embedded software infrastructure for automated verification of IoT MCU & wireless products.
  • Implement drivers, regression tests, and algorithms to verify hardware functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and integrate test and driver code with hardware test platforms.
  • Develop and debug user applications and utilities supporting IC validation.
  • Support verification, systems, and chip design engineers in using software tools.
  • Collaborate with hardware, systems, and IC design teams across locations.
  • Evaluate, adopt, and deploy new technologies and tooling.
  • Communicate effectively to diagnose and resolve cross-team issues.

Requirements

  • Professional software development experience (level flexible).
  • Proficiency in ANSI C or C++ for hardware/chip and board-level programming.
  • Hardware debugging skills to enable software functionality on test platforms.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming in Python, C#, or Java.
  • Experience with software build systems and revision control tools.
  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies and test automation.
  • Experience using AI-powered tools and technologies to improve productivity or analysis.

Nice-to-have

  • Understanding of automated test environments for hardware verification, validation, and characterization.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and measurements.
  • Experience with databases and data manipulation (.NET, XML).
  • Experience with data reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
