Embedded Software Developer - Student

Role Summary

Work on development and testing of peripheral and graphics drivers for NXP i.MX application processors running QNX, Green Hills Integrity and Android Automotive. The role is on a Brno-based engineering team focused on driver development, porting and embedded test automation.

Practical, hands-on student position aimed at gaining embedded systems experience in a production environment.

Experience Level

Entry-level — suitable for current technical university students or recent graduates. No minimum professional experience required; early-career candidates expected.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include development, porting and test support for embedded drivers and demo/test applications.

• Learn and apply i.MX (ARM) architecture and target OSes (QNX, Green Hills Integrity, Android Automotive)
• Develop and port peripheral and graphics drivers
• Create and maintain software layers, demo and test applications
• Contribute to test development and automation efforts
• Study and maintain technical documentation
• Collaborate with the team to resolve tasks of varying complexity
• Keep up to date with embedded development tools and best practices

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes for the role.

• Interest or practical experience in C/C++ embedded development
• Familiarity with Linux and distributed version control systems such as Git
• Basic knowledge of ARM processors or embedded SoC architecture is a plus
• Willingness to use QNX Momentics Studio, Green Hills MULTI and embedded development kits
• Ability to work in an evolving technical environment and collaborate in a team
• Good written English for reading and understanding technical documentation; spoken English is a plus

Education Requirements

Technical university student or graduate in Electrical Engineering, Informatics, Computer Science or a similar technical field. Ongoing studies are acceptable (student status expected for this position).
