Job Title
Electrical Validation Engineering Manager
Role Summary
Lead a team responsible for electrical validation of high-speed IO (HSIO) silicon from early bring-up through mass production. Drive validation strategy, lab execution, and infrastructure development to ensure signal integrity, analog performance, standards compliance, and production readiness.
The role combines technical leadership, program execution ownership, and people management while collaborating closely with architecture, design, pre-silicon validation, test, and manufacturing teams. Regular onsite presence is required to support essential lab validation activities.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Requires extensive experience (see Requirements) and demonstrated people leadership.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on planning and delivering robust HSIO electrical validation and developing the team and infrastructure to maintain production quality.
- Define and drive electrical validation strategy across HSIO interfaces (e.g., PCIe, UCIe, GPIO, SERDES).
- Plan and execute validation activities: compliance testing, margin analysis, high-speed debug, and lab-to-production correlation.
- Develop and improve validation infrastructure, automation, tools, and methodologies to increase coverage and efficiency.
- Resolve electrical and signal-integrity issues by collaborating with architecture, design, pre-silicon validation, test, and manufacturing teams.
- Provide people leadership: set goals, manage performance, develop senior technical talent, and promote ownership and accountability.
- Own delivery of complex, lab-intensive validation programs and ensure targets for signal integrity, analog performance, and system-level margins are met.
- Maintain regular onsite presence for hands-on lab validation and debugging.
Requirements
Must-have technical and leadership qualifications for successful performance in this role.
- At least 10 years of relevant technical/engineering/validation experience.
- At least 5 years of people leadership experience.
- Strong background in high-speed IO electrical validation and signal integrity.
- Proven experience leading teams delivering complex, lab-intensive validation programs.
- Demonstrated ability to balance deep technical HSIO expertise with people and program execution leadership.
- Effective communicator across geographies and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience collaborating with architecture, design, pre-silicon validation, test, and manufacturing teams.
- Willingness and ability to be regularly onsite for lab-based validation activities.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
