Role Summary

Design, modify, and troubleshoot electrical/electronic assemblies and control electronics for electron-optical systems used in semiconductor and display inspection equipment. Work within a development team of physicists, designers, and system engineers to develop, prototype, test, and document precision analog and digital electronics.

Salary range: €70,400–€96,800 per year.

Responsibilities

Main duties include engineering design, test, and coordination with suppliers and manufacturing.

  • Develop and implement test stands and test methods for analog and digital electronics.
  • Plan and implement electronics for operation of complex electron-optical systems.
  • Design, implement, and test discrete and control circuits; develop prototypes for evaluation.
  • Specify, manage projects for, and accept external hardware and software components.
  • Create technical documentation for suppliers and manufacturing; manage BOM and change control.
  • Perform troubleshooting and testing of prototypes and produce engineering test reports.
  • Define control software requirements including user interface behavior.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (physicists, system engineers, designers).
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10%.

Requirements

Technical skills and domain experience required to execute the responsibilities.

  • Experience designing precision electronics: current/voltage sources, low-noise amplifiers, raster and imaging systems.
  • Experience with precision high-voltage supplies (up to 30 kV) and associated safety/standards practices.
  • Design experience with digital control electronics and integration with control software.
  • Project management experience for complex electronics projects; supplier specification and acceptance.
  • Test and troubleshooting skills for prototype electronics and systems.
  • Knowledge and implementation experience with IEC, SEMI, and UL standards.
  • Experience with change management, BOM definition, and obsolescence handling.
  • Working proficiency in German and English.

Education Requirements
