Role Summary

Design and develop electrical systems for KLA FaST metrology tools used in semiconductor manufacturing. The role covers new product development and support of existing products, working within a cross-functional team (EE, ME, Mechatronics, Software, Systems).

Primary mission: produce robust electrical designs, diagnose and resolve complex system-level issues, and support manufacturing and field integration.

Responsibilities

The role requires hands-on electrical engineering across design, integration, troubleshooting, and field support.

• Develop system-level electrical architecture and detailed schematics and layouts for FaST tools.
• Collaborate with mechanical, mechatronics, software, systems, and program management teams during design and integration.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex electrical and system-level issues; define corrective actions.
• Provide escalation support for high-impact problems affecting tool performance, reliability, or schedule.
• Support engineering builds, manufacturing bring-up, early system integration, and customer site deployments.
• Work with Manufacturing, Field Service, and Sustaining Engineering to ensure robust electrical solutions.
• Provide on-site technical support when required during critical program phases.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and work conditions:

• Strong hands-on electrical design experience (schematics, system-level architecture).
• System integration and troubleshooting skills in a cross-functional development environment.
• Availability for domestic and international travel to support tool builds, escalations, and customer engagements.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with semiconductor capital equipment, manufacturing bring-up, or field service support.
• Familiarity with schematic/layout tools and cross-functional engineering processes.
