Application Engineer - JedAI/Pulse Installation & Enablement
Role Summary
The Application Engineer will install, configure, validate, and enable Cadence JedAI and Pulse technologies in customer environments. The role works with customer IT, CAD, and security teams and coordinates with R&D, product engineering, and sales to ensure stable deployments and successful adoption.
Primary focus areas are deployment, integration with enterprise infrastructure and Cadence toolchains, post-install validation, and operational troubleshooting across services.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Prior customer-facing application-engineer or support experience with EDA tools is required; specific years of experience not specified.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include installation, validation, and ongoing support of JedAI/Pulse services and integrations.
- Install and configure JedAI and Pulse components, including environment setup and enterprise integration.
- Configure and validate services such as index/vector databases, embedding and reranking services, LLM gateway, and API endpoints.
- Work with customer IT, CAD, and security teams to align deployments with enterprise policies and infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot issues across services using logs and service-level metrics.
- Perform post-install validation, updates to vector databases and models, monitoring, capacity planning, and stability assessments.
- Collaborate with R&D, product engineering, and sales to resolve technical issues and drive adoption.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

Must-have: Strong experience with Linux and Windows environments.
- Familiarity with containerized applications and basic container tooling.
- Working knowledge of distributed services and configuration formats (YAML or similar).
- Ability to debug and diagnose issues using logs and service-level metrics.
- Experience in a customer-facing AE role supporting Cadence EDA tools.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts (Pods, services, resource allocation).
- Exposure to AI/ML infrastructure, inference services, or vector databases.
- Familiarity with version control systems, design databases, or PLM-style data governance models.
- Familiarity with authentication mechanisms (API keys, tokens, access control).
- Experience supporting customer-managed infrastructure environments.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience is specified as the baseline. (Equivalent experience acceptable.)
