Electrical Design Engineering Intern
Role Summary
Internship within Qorvo's High Performance Analog group supporting electrical and RF hardware development. The intern will assist engineers with design, simulation, testing, and documentation of RF, analog, and power management circuit card assemblies.
The role offers hands-on lab experience with measurement equipment, mentored technical work, and exposure to product development processes.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship for students currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program. No professional years-of-experience required.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities during the internship include:
- Support design, analysis, simulation, and testing of RF, analog, and power-management circuit card assemblies.
- Assist with schematic development, component selection, and RF signal-chain design.
- Perform circuit simulations and analyze gain, noise figure, linearity, power consumption, and system performance.
- Participate in characterization and laboratory testing using network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and power meters.
- Contribute to design documentation, technical reports, design reviews, and test procedures.
Requirements
Key skills and attributes for successful candidates (must-have vs. preferred):
- Must-have / expected: Strong collaboration, communication, organization, and attention to detail; self-starter comfortable in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Technical (preferred): Familiarity with RF measurement equipment such as spectrum and network analyzers; experience with circuit simulation and analysis.
- Tools: Familiarity with Altium Designer, Cadence, LTspice, ADS, or similar electronic design and simulation tools.
- Work style: Effective written and verbal communication to convey technical information; ability to follow test procedures and document results.
- Visa: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the company.
Education Requirements
Internship program is for students enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program. The posting specifically lists MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering as a qualification. Candidates should have completed RF or microwave design coursework and typically meet a minimum GPA of 3.0.
