Electrical Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and deliver production probe card electrical designs from customer specifications. Work in a cross-functional team to translate customer requirements into logical netlists, guide physical designers, and support manufacture and customer evaluation.

Based in Gyeonggi-Do, South Korea; role includes project management, documentation, and collaboration with Sales, PCB/substrate, mechanical and automation teams.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typically requires 3–10 years of relevant electrical design experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties in a production probe card design environment.

• Produce probe card electrical designs and perform design entry from customer schematics or spreadsheets.
• Translate customer technical specifications into logical designs (netlists) and electrical design rules.
• Provide electrical guidance to internal and external physical designers for space transformers and PCBs.
• Perform quick-turn analysis for customers and vendors and communicate results to Sales/Design.
• Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, PCB, substrate, and mechanical teams for design and evaluation.
• Manage multiple concurrent design projects, schedules, progress tracking, and quality control.
• Develop and improve design tools and processes with design and automation groups.
• Train new employees on design processes and documentation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

• 3–10 years' experience in electrical design and related concepts.
• Solid understanding of electrical design concepts: impedance, PDN, signal integrity, and digital/analog circuit design.
• Good understanding of physical routing concepts (differential pairs, split planes, routing best practices).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work with cross-functional and global teams.
• Preferred: Experience with PADS, Allegro, EPD, AutoCAD.
• Preferred: Knowledge of multi-layer PCB, ceramic or organic substrate design and manufacturing.
• Preferred: Experience in semiconductor test, wafer probing, or semiconductor manufacturing.
• Preferred: Programming skills to support automation or tool development.

Education Requirements

Degree and equivalency expectations: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE, 4-year) or equivalent is listed; Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) preferred. The posting specifies experience-based alternatives: typically 5+ years with a Bachelor's, 3+ years with a Master's, or a PhD may be accepted without prior experience. Related technical degrees or equivalent practical experience are acceptable.
