EDA (Electronic Design Automation) Engineer
Role Summary
Provide technical leadership and hands-on support to evaluate, implement, and maintain EDA tools and design flows across business groups. The role delivers tool integration, automation, and regional (APAC) support to improve engineering efficiency and product time-to-market.
Works as an internal consultant to designers, develops scripts and Python-based applications, and standardizes scalable solutions across teams.
Experience Level
Senior — 6+ years of relevant experience in EDA tools, semiconductor design environment, or related engineering domains.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include evaluating EDA tools, building automated flows, and providing regional support for tool deployment and maintenance.
- Evaluate EDA tool landscape and recommend solutions aligned with design roadmaps.
- Act as EDA consultant to stakeholders to define technical and roadmap requirements.
- Provide APAC support for EDA tools: development, project setup, deployment, and maintenance.
- Develop Python-based applications to support design flows and tool integration; leverage AI-enabled coding where appropriate.
- Create and implement EDA interface scripts to build efficient, scalable design flows.
- Identify and pilot alternative EDA tools to improve quality, cost efficiency, or time to market; standardize successful solutions across groups.
- Provide technical support for models, DRCs, PDKs, TCAD, PCMs, and TOs; rapidly learn new domain knowledge as required.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience expected for this role.
- 6+ years of experience with EDA tools or semiconductor design environments.
- Strong programming skills in Python; familiarity with scripting languages such as Perl, Ruby, or Tcl.
- Practical understanding of semiconductor design processes and design flows.
- Knowledge or affinity with TCAD, PDKs, and device modeling.
- Experience in data processing and analysis and in integrating tools into automated flows.
- Consultative mindset with strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-engagement skills.
- Self-driven, curious, and willing to explore and implement new EDA technologies and innovations.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in IT, Electronics, or a related field (as stated in the posting).
