Job Title
DRAM Strategic Supply Chain Management Engineering Program Manager
Role Summary
Lead DRAM technology strategy, supplier engineering engagements, and qualification programs to enable Apple silicon products. This role coordinates cross-functional engineering, packaging, validation, and supply teams to select technologies, mitigate technical risk, and drive high-volume ramps.
Position sits at the intersection of silicon engineering, memory technology, and Global Supply Management; it requires regular technical interaction with DRAM suppliers and senior leadership communication.
Experience Level
Senior β requires extensive industry experience; the posting specifies 20+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include technology strategy, supplier engagement, and program execution:
- Develop and drive multi-year DRAM technology and qualification plans aligned to silicon and product roadmaps (LPDDR5X, LPDDR6, HBM-class).
- Lead technical engagements with DRAM suppliers and represent silicon engineering requirements to supplier leadership.
- Own DRAM qualification and NPI execution from sampling through mass production; manage schedules, milestones, and critical-path risk mitigation.
- Evaluate technology trade-offs (density, power, performance, package form factor) and inform silicon and product decisions.
- Maintain technology comparison frameworks and provide engineering inputs to NPI supply cost models (yield projections, complexity, qualification costs).
- Synthesize engineering, qualification, and supply data into clear recommendations for senior leadership and supplier executives.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics (yield, quality, reliability, technical readiness) and drive improvements.
- Coordinate with Global Supply Management on cost targets and supply risk.
Requirements
Must-have technical background and program management experience; degree details are summarized in Education Requirements below.
- Proven experience in semiconductor/memory technology development, qualification, or NPI program management with direct technical engagement with memory or semiconductor suppliers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume silicon manufacturing processes across the full NPI lifecycle with cross-functional teams (Silicon Engineering, Packaging, Quality, Platform Architecture, Operations).
- Strong supplier engagement skills including capacity and schedule planning, executive communication, and escalation management.
- Ability to analyze complex technical and supply-chain data and produce executive-level messaging and actionable recommendations.
- Experience with DRAM architecture, device physics, packaging considerations, and qualification methodologies is highly desirable.
- Exceptional program execution: tracking complex qualification, material, and capacity schedules and mitigating risks under tight timelines.
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed (primarily Korea and Taiwan).
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. The posting specifies 20+ years of relevant experience. Preferred: MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
