DRAM Design Development Quality Engineer

Role Summary

Lead quality and reliability activities for new DRAM products from design through qualification. Collaborate with Design, Product Engineering, Technology Development, Quality Assurance and Manufacturing to identify risks, drive mitigation, and verify that products meet reliability and customer expectations.

Work contributes to improving product reliability and customer satisfaction for high-performance memory products.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early-career - typically requires about 2+ years of relevant industry experience as noted in the education/experience section.

Responsibilities

Key duties include:

• Collaborate with Design, PE, TD, QA and Manufacturing to identify and mitigate quality and reliability issues during design and pre-qualification.
• Identify design-specific risks for high-performance memory products and ensure verification/validation specs enable visibility into mitigation progress.
• Drive deep-dive problem solving and align mitigation/resolution across the DRAM portfolio.
• Serve as subject matter expert on design-related quality and live-die reliability; advise global quality leadership on risk and mitigation strategies.
• Recommend changes to verification and validation flows to meet quality and reliability requirements.
• Represent QA in customer usage model reviews and design review forums to provide accurate, updated feedback for design success.
• Assess customer issue feedback, monitor mitigation effectiveness, and ensure issues are de-risked for current and future products.
• Validate CMOS reliability specs on live die; identify gaps and initiatives to improve structural, electrical, quality and reliability margins.
• Define and perform failure analysis and device/circuit characterization to improve operation, testability, and DRAM reliability.
• Maintain effective communication among Design, TD, PE, Manufacturing and Quality for critical quality issues.

Requirements

Core skills and qualifications.

• Knowledge of CMOS logic / digital logic / VLSI design.
• Knowledge of DRAM architecture and functioning.
• Experience with semiconductor device physics.
• Experience with reliability issues for CMOS and memory arrays.
• Strong facilitation and communication skills for complex technical topics.
• Project management, multi-tasking and analytical skills; ability to deliver and communicate data and findings.
• Independently motivated with a strong drive to deliver results.

Nice-to-have:

• Knowledge of Python and/or C++.
• Experience with design/circuit simulation.
• Familiarity with reliability statistics.
• Experience applying or leveraging AI.

Education Requirements

Master's degree or higher in Electrical or Electronics Engineering with approximately 2+ years of relevant experience.
