Role Summary

The successful candidate will join the Display IP Design team in developing leading edge display solutions in Qualcomm SoCs. You will work within a multi-disciplinary, multi-site team of architects, designers, and verification engineers, responsible for IP design development and integration within the display sub-system.

Experience Level

Mid-level, requiring 2+ years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Develop module specifications and follow through with design and programming specifications.
  • Provide technical expertise for next generation initiatives and design automation.
  • Model and analyze performance, area, power, and system cost trade-offs for different micro-architectures.
  • Implement modules and sub-systems in Verilog RTL.
  • Work closely with the design verification team to define verification methodology.
  • Develop and debug tests at the module, sub-system, and SoC levels throughout the ASIC development cycle.
  • Develop and update technical documentation on an ongoing basis.
  • Make significant contributions to silicon debug and analysis.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design experience, or
  • Master's degree and 1+ year of ASIC design experience, or
  • PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Ability to work legally in Canada.
  • Strong understanding of ASIC/VLSI design concepts.
  • Experience with HDL languages such as Verilog or VHDL.
  • Experience in a Linux environment.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Tcl.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field required; Master's or PhD preferred.
