Director, System Power
Role Summary
Lead and develop a team of system power architects responsible for low-power FPGA system design, power modeling, measurement, and performance/power analysis. Work cross-functionally with hardware, software, product marketing, and applications teams to define power requirements and deliver power-efficient solutions from concept to production.
Hands-on leadership role focused on methodologies, tools, and scalable infrastructure for power analysis and correlation with post-silicon measurements.
Experience Level
Senior β leadership role. Typical experience guidance: BSEE ~15+ years, MS ~12+ years, PhD ~10+ years in relevant fields.
Responsibilities
The director will set technical direction, build the team, and own power-related design, analysis, and delivery across product lines.
- Build and grow a system power team aligned with business objectives.
- Define and lead low-power system design and power management strategies.
- Establish power budgets; perform power analysis, measurement, and debug.
- Develop power models and modeling methodologies and correlate models with post-silicon measurements.
- Design and run FPGA-focused power and performance benchmarks; track regressions.
- Develop scalable software infrastructure for regression and benchmark tracking.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentor system power architects across geographies.

Must-have:
- Proven experience with power measurements, power modeling, and power/performance analysis across hardware IPs (CPU, GPU, DSP, TPU, FPGAs).
- Proficiency with scripting (e.g., Python) and programming (C/C++ or Java).
- Experience defining and driving best practices and methodologies for power design and analysis.
- Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams across geographies and managing performance.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with regression infrastructure, benchmark tracking systems, and scalable tooling for power analysis.
- Deep experience with FPGA-specific power and performance benchmarking.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, and/or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related fields were listed. Experience guidance provided in the posting: BSEE ~15+ years, MS ~12+ years, PhD ~10+ years.
