Director / Senior Manager, Analog/Mixed-Signal & RF IC Design

Role Summary

Lead the Analog, Mixed-Signal & RF IC design team responsible for developing IPs for data center SERDES (200G and 400G), including DSPs, drivers, and TIAs. This is a people-management role with hands-on technical leadership, owning architecture, roadmaps, tape-out, and productization from concept to production.

Interface with system engineering, CAD, technology teams and customers; represent the design organization in executive technical and business discussions. Estimated starting base salary range: $177,000 to $259,000 annually.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Requires substantial senior technical and leadership experience (see Education Requirements for years-of-experience guidance).

Responsibilities

Accountable for technical leadership, team development, and delivery of mixed-signal ICs.

• Provide hands-on technical leadership and set strategic roadmaps and architectures for mixed-signal designs across global teams.
• Partner with IC designers and system engineers to develop high-performance analog, mixed-signal, and RF circuits for next-generation products.
• Translate product specifications into block-level design requirements and drive technical excellence in implementation.
• Build, mentor, and recruit a world-class team of analog, mixed-signal, and RF IC designers; manage performance, career development, and succession planning.
• Partner with system engineering, digital design, CAD, and technology teams to optimize design flows and methodologies.
• Collaborate with support teams to enhance productivity and champion continuous improvement in design processes.
• Interface with customers throughout development and release-to-production phases.
• Oversee IC tape-out and productization from concept through production release; ensure design quality, manufacturability, and time-to-market objectives.

Requirements

Must-have experience and skills (education summarized separately).

• Extensive hands-on experience in analog, mixed-signal, or RF IC design with proven tape-out and productization track record.
• Deep technical knowledge of analog, mixed-signal, and RF IC design principles and advanced CMOS process nodes.
• Proven success managing and developing engineering teams; experience recruiting and mentoring senior IC designers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with executive presentation and customer-facing experience.
• Track record managing strategic initiatives and cross-functional programs; strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence across organizational boundaries and drive execution to delivery.

Education Requirements

BS in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 11 years of relevant experience; or MS plus 9 years; or PhD plus 6 years. Related technical fields and equivalent practical experience may be considered.
