Director of Hardware Engineering
Role Summary
Lead global semiconductor hardware engineering initiatives focused on silicon ecosystem development, including EDA vendor relationships, IP and test-chip programs that support MCU and SoC product lines. Align IP roadmap with long-term product strategy and coordinate cross-functionally to meet delivery targets and KPIs.
Experience Level
Senior — 20+ years of engineering experience, with demonstrated expertise in design, verification, and validation across multiple technology generations.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Provide technical and program leadership for silicon ecosystem initiatives (EDA, IP, test chips).
- Define and align IP roadmap with product roadmaps and long-term strategy.
- Plan and execute path-finding and test-chip programs to de-risk designs.
- Manage relationships with EDA vendors, IP partners, and other external stakeholders.
- Coordinate with product, operations, and software teams to ensure on-time delivery and agreed KPIs.
- Set technical direction, prioritize resources, and track program milestones and risks.
- Mentor and develop engineering staff and promote cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications and skills:
- 20+ years of engineering experience in semiconductor or hardware development.
- Deep knowledge of design, verification, and validation methodologies across multiple technology nodes.
- Experience executing silicon-related programs involving EDA tools, IP integration, and test chips.
- Proven program leadership and cross-functional collaboration with product, operations, and software groups.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and verbal/written communication skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a similar field.
