Director, High-Performance AI and Compute, Power IC - China

Role Summary

Lead Renesas' High-Performance AI and Compute (HPAC) business in China within the Performance Computing Power division. Responsible for strategy, business development, product and portfolio alignment, and revenue growth for AI, data center, and high-performance compute power solutions.

Manage a China marketing team (direct reports) and an applications engineering team (dotted-line reports), engage customers and cross-functional global teams to secure design wins and scale production revenue.

Experience Level

Senior - requires 15+ years in marketing, product management, business development, or related roles with substantial leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Drive HPAC business growth in China through strategy, customer engagement, product/portfolio alignment, and cross-functional execution.

• Set China segment and customer priorities, design-win targets, and revenue goals.
• Develop market, customer architecture, and competitor insights to identify opportunities and risks.
• Lead strategic customer engagements with cloud providers, AI companies, and server OEMs/ODMs from early engagement through design win, qualification, and production revenue.
• Direct China Sales and FAE teams in opportunity development and design-win execution.
• Partner with Product Management to translate customer requirements into product roadmaps and prioritize portfolio investments.
• Coordinate cross-functional execution across Product Management, Engineering, Applications, Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
• Recruit, develop, and manage China marketing and applications engineering teams; set goals and performance expectations.
• Address export-control, trade-compliance, and supply-chain localization requirements in partnership with Legal and Operations.

Requirements

• Must-have
  • 15+ years in marketing, product management, business development, or related roles, preferably in power semiconductors.
  • Hands-on experience managing and launching products in data center, server, telecom, networking, or compute markets.
  • Proven people leadership with experience managing direct and dotted-line teams.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and securing design wins.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to influence cross-functional, global teams and operate in fast-paced environments.
• Nice-to-have
  • Established relationships within China’s cloud, AI, or server ecosystem.
  • Working knowledge of power management applications and products.
  • Experience navigating export-control, trade-compliance, and supply-chain localization.

Education Requirements

BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field required. MS or MBA is a plus. Equivalent practical experience that demonstrates comparable technical and leadership capability is acceptable.
