Role Summary
Lead strategy and day-to-day operations for infrastructure that supports 1,000+ semiconductor design engineers across global sites. Responsible for compute and HPC environments, EDA tool platforms, job scheduling, revision control, enterprise storage, automation, and engineering productivity tooling.
Deliver highly available, secure, and scalable infrastructure to meet tapeout and design-cycle requirements.

Responsibilities
Drive infrastructure strategy, operational excellence, and cross-functional alignment for semiconductor engineering platforms.
- Define and lead infrastructure strategy for global semiconductor design and engineering operations.
- Ensure availability, performance, scalability, and security of platforms used for chip-development workflows.
- Lead teams responsible for Linux infrastructure, compute farms, enterprise storage, revision control, automation, and observability.
- Manage 24x7 production operations including incident response, root cause analysis, change management, and disaster recovery planning.
- Partner with silicon engineering, CAD/EDA teams, IT, security, program management, and executive leadership to align priorities.
- Improve engineering productivity through automation, self-service platforms, and platform reliability improvements.
- Develop capacity plans and long-range roadmaps for compute, storage, and engineering demand growth.
- Establish and maintain SLAs, performance metrics, and continuous improvement practices.
Requirements
Essential technical, operational, and leadership qualifications.
- Extensive experience architecting, deploying, and administering large-scale Linux environments (RHEL/CentOS or equivalent).
- Proven leadership managing infrastructure or platform engineering teams supporting 1,000+ engineers and 24x7 operations.
- Deep experience with enterprise storage at scale (NAS/SAN topologies, backup, disaster recovery, business continuity for large datasets).
- Experience operating and scaling distributed compute/HPC environments and compute farms; operational knowledge of IBM Spectrum LSF or equivalent job schedulers.
- Operational administration of Perforce at enterprise scale, including database management, replication, backup/recovery, and large-binary performance.
- Strong skills in infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code using tools such as Puppet, Python, shell scripting, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Proven track record in incident management, root cause analysis, change management, capacity planning, and SLA/SLO ownership.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills with silicon engineering, CAD/EDA, IT/security, and executive stakeholders.
Nice-to-have:
- Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, GitLab/Gerrit/GitHub, CI/CD for hardware flows, artifact or AI tooling strategy.
- Experience with tapeout-critical infrastructure, EDA workload tuning, license-aware scheduling, and large-scale job volume optimization.
