Role Summary
Lead GlobalFoundries' Field Application Engineering organization supporting strategic customers across AI infrastructure, silicon photonics, advanced packaging, networking, mobile, and power technologies. Build and develop a team of FAEs to drive technical engagement, influence technology roadmaps, and convert technical engagements into sustained revenue.
Experience Level
Senior — requires 15+ years of semiconductor industry experience and proven leadership of customer-facing technical teams.
Responsibilities
Deliver technical leadership, customer success, and growth through team management and strategic engagement.
- Build, mentor, and lead a team of Field Application Engineers supporting GF's largest strategic accounts.
- Create a culture of accountability, technical excellence, collaboration, and customer focus.
- Develop and lead technical strategy for design wins and major customer engagements from evaluation through tapeout, production ramp, and lifecycle support.
- Partner with account managers to identify, qualify, and advance new business opportunities and forecast design-win execution.
- Influence customer roadmaps and align GF solutions to future market opportunities.
- Anticipate and remove technical barriers that could impact customer success.
- Represent GF at customer briefings, industry events, and executive meetings; develop trusted cross-functional partnerships.
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.
Requirements
Core qualifications required for this leadership role.
- 15+ years of semiconductor industry experience with demonstrated success supporting strategic accounts.
- Proven experience leading customer-facing technical organizations and coaching technical staff.
- Deep understanding of semiconductor technologies, foundry ecosystems, design flows, and design-win processes.
- Strong executive engagement, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical solutions into measurable business outcomes.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with silicon photonics, advanced packaging, AI infrastructure, RF/connectivity, power/mixed-signal technologies, or hyperscale/cloud customers.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
