Director, AI Instinct Stack Architecture
Role Summary
Lead architecture strategy, technical direction, and cross-functional execution across the AMD Instinct product portfolio. Drive end-to-end alignment across hardware, firmware, system software, security, reliability, platform management, and infrastructure to enable AI and HPC platforms.
Manage and grow a team of architects and domain experts and serve as the primary architecture interface to senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and strategic customers.

Responsibilities
Lead architecture strategy and ensure architectural consistency and scalability across the Instinct ecosystem. Key responsibilities include:
- Define and own long-term architecture strategy and roadmap for the Instinct stack across multiple domains.
- Drive architectural alignment across RAS, system software, security, platform management, diagnostics, telemetry, manageability, and infrastructure.
- Establish architecture principles, standards, decision frameworks, and governance models.
- Lead architecture reviews and technical decision-making for next-generation platforms and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure architectures meet goals for performance, security, reliability, serviceability, and maintainability.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of architects and technical leaders across multiple verticals.
- Partner with silicon architecture, firmware, software, validation, product management, customer engineering, and executive leadership.
- Influence product roadmaps, technology investments, risk management, and platform simplification efforts.

Must-have:
- Proven technical leadership in system-level architecture for datacenter GPU, AI accelerator, HPC, or platform programs.
- Experience spanning hardware, firmware, system software, security, reliability, diagnostics, and platform management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead architecture teams and deliver across multiple product generations and engineering verticals.
- Proven influence in a matrixed environment and experience presenting to executives and senior technical leaders.
- Strong understanding of RAS, telemetry, serviceability, manageability, resiliency, security, and system-level performance tradeoffs.
- Track record of building and mentoring high-performing technical teams and establishing clear ownership and execution discipline.
- Ability to define architecture principles, standards, and governance across organizations.

Nice-to-have:
- Experience with rack-scale platforms, customer enablement, and large-scale systems integration.
- Prior success driving platform simplification, design reuse, and scalable architectural approaches for datacenter products.
Education Requirements
